The No Regen Engine tour uses Volvo Truck dealerships across the United States and Canada as venues to present a comprehensive explanation of SCR and demonstrate its benefits to customers. Twenty-six events have been held so far, and more than a thousand customers to date have heard Volvo experts explain the technology and benefits of SCR. As part of the experience, customers are given the opportunity to inspect and drive a production-ready EPA'10 Volvo VN, as well as handle samples of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
"The response to the No Regen Engine tour's messages has been overwhelmingly positive," says Scott Kress, senior vice president – sales and marketing. "Our customers are intensely interested in SCR and really want to understand how it will work for their operations. Volvo's fact-based presentations and hands-on demonstrations have dispelled the misinformation and confusion that others have attempted to spread about this technology."
"Customers come away from the No Regen Engine tour events feeling reassured and confident about how ready Volvo is for 2010 and the benefits we will deliver, including improved fuel economy, reduced operating costs and no DPF active regenerations," Kress says.
The No Regen Engine tour will continue through September, with approximately 70 dealer-customer events planned. Customers should contact their local Volvo Truck dealer for information on tour events in their area.
Volvo Trucks North America's operations and products are guided by the company's three core values: Safety, Quality and Environmental Care. The Volvo VT, VN and VHD trucks are assembled in the United States at the New River Valley Plant in Dublin, VA, while Volvo engines for North America are assembled in Hagerstown, MD. Both plants are certified to ISO:14001 environmental and ISO:9001 quality standards. Volvo also sponsors America's Road Team, a national highway safety outreach program.
